I sometimes host small gatherings at the Quinta around land, food, naturism, queer life, permaculture, harvest, and seasonal work.
They are not retreats, and that is intentionally so: There is no guru or leader, absolutely no commercial offer, and no fixed outcome. People come together for a few days to share meals, ideas, work, rest, conversations, and daily life on the farm. There is no fee for the gathering itself. Everyone contributes to the week in practical ways: cooking, cleaning, helping on the land, making space for each other, and, most importantly, taking part in whatever we create together during the gathering. Food costs are usually shared. During work weeks, food is provided.
Gatherings at the Quinta are usually small (8-10 people maximum) and self-organised:
- Gatherings are built around a theme, such as ecosensuality, naturism, queer ecology, or social permaculture.
These weeks are about shared exploration, conversation, meals, time outside, and living together on the farm for a few days. - Others are work weeks with a clear practical purpose:
the annual olive harvest, a spring work week, a garden week, or a land-clearing week.
In both cases, the format is simple: People take part, help with daily life, cook, clean, share the work, and shape the week together.
Upcoming gatherings
Upcoming dates will be listed here when they are confirmed.
Accommodation is simple: Usually, there are shared beds in the main house, or optional camping on the land.
A gathering is different from volunteering: It is shorter, more focused, and organised around a shared theme. It is also different from a short visit because people come as part of a small group with a common purpose.
