Quinta Community Call Thursday, 16 February @ 19:30 UTC
Doubtful Forms - Darwin’s Origin of Species what we think we know, and what we might have missed….
Darwin’s book grew to be a “theory of everything” of its time, challenging the orthodox fixed view of nature at the time. Frequently misinterpreted, and maligned the Book and Darwin’s work provides a framework for thinking about the natural world, and the impact it had tells us much about societies reaction to radical ideas.
With Tom Blower: Tom grew up with a deep fascination with the natural world. Graduating from Oxford with a degree in Zoology, Tom participated in expeditions to the deserts of India and the rainforests of Borneo. He has continued to learn supplementing his working career with further qualifications in Environmental Sciences, Adult Education & Development. He has lived and worked in Asia, the Middle East, London, and Sussex, where he currently lives. A qualified executive coach, Tom helps people change through dialogue, experience and sharing insight. In all things he has tried to understand how systems work through balancing certainty with possibility and variability. Key to his understanding of the world around us has been the framework of evolution – the causes of what is, and the emergence of what could be.

Cook Along: Sugary Cabbage, trust me! Tuesday, 21 February @ 18:30 UTC
The Food Pod invites you to an evening of celebrating seasonal produce from the Quinta - wherever you are in the world! We will prepare a meal together (see ingredients below) and then enjoy it together.
Winter is definitely cabbage season. We have red, white and leafy cabbages galore at the Quinta. So for this CookAlong and Quinta meal, we chose to prepare white cabbage!
To join, buy the ingredients listed below. On the day, we will then connect over Zoom to cook the meal together. After that we eat the prepared food together ... and enjoy some Quinter company for the meal!
Ingredients for February: 1 white cabbage (approx 600g) 1 onion 300g pasta (lasagne sheets work best, but farfalle is also great) cumin sugar salt & pepper
The ingredients are for roughly 2 portions.
