a second spring here at the Quinta, with greens and wild flowers, lots of produce from the land and a relief from the hot days we had recently

Hello

Autumn is almost upon us, and this means something like a second spring here at the Quinta, with greens and wild flowers, lots of produce from the land and a relief from the hot days we had recently. For me, this is the most magical time on the land here, and we would love to share this experience with you.

This is a great time to visit the land, join in the work and experience the magic of our ecoqueer experimental space. The great news: After nearly three months of being totally full with Quinters staying, working, and having joy and fun on the land, we have some openings again for visiting and volunteering on the land! And, we have three Work Weeks to look forward to!

Join us for the…

Welcome Meeting
Thursday, 18. August  5pm WESTInfo/Registration here
Find out more about the Quinta, how we operate, the various pods … and how to become part of this amazing community. If this is your first time visiting the Quinta, or you have questions about staying at the Quinta, come and join us during the Welcome Meeting this Thursday!

Fabulous Food Week
18-25. September,  Info here
Working together, we will pickle, ferment, can, cook, dry, and juice produce from the land. We may even try to make wine! Beyond preserving the food, we invite you to explore with us the local (vegetarian) food scene. Try local delicacies, and create imaginative dishes for the community from seasonal fruit and vegetables.
If you are interested in finding out more about harvesting and preserving your own, seasonal food, then come and join us!

Autumn Work Week
2.-9. October, Info here
We will be building the water collection and irrigation system at the Quinta in preparation for harvesting the winter rains. This will make our vegetable gardens fit to provide for the community next year. If you want to experiment with water systems, collecting water and building an irrigation system from scratch, then join us during this week.

Olive Harvest Week
4. – 11. December, Info here
Olive harvest has always been a celebration of community and the joy of connectedness. During this week we revive this ancient custom with a week where we celebrate our togetherness – and harvest our olives to become oil and to brine and salt them. Join us for this unique experience of community, abundance and magic during the special olive season.

Volunteering outside of WorkWeeks
… anytime you want! Speak to us
We are looking for vegetable garden caretakers, seed planters, crop harvesters, tree pruners, mushroom growers, natural builders, terrace restorators, food preservation fanatics, land clearers …

Basically anyone who has a hands on approach to land guardianship, identifies as queer and likes to be in community is welcome to spend a minimum of 5 days with us on the land. For first visits we have a maximum of 7 day stays.

We will work together most of the time, though we are also open for project suggestions after you have spent some time on the land.

Any questions? Come and join us for the Welcome Meeting – or if you prefer, you can email us (by replying to this email!), use the contact form … or just book a zoom call with one of us here!

Love from the Land Project
