SUMMARY:Fabulous Food Week
DESCRIPTION:Autumn is the season of true abundance. Join us to celebrate this time of plenty on the Quinta! \nExperience community and enjoy the gifts of nature as we celebrate with our first theme week\, dedicated to harvesting and preserving food grown on the Quinta or produced locally. \nWorking together\, we will pickle\, ferment\, can\, cook\, dry\, and juice produce from the land. We may even try to make wine! Beyond preserving the food\, we invite you to explore with us the local (vegetarian) food scene. Try local delicacies\, and create imaginative dishes for the community from seasonal fruit and vegetables. \nEvery day\, we will have activities which will help us to connect to the land and the produce\, and to grow as a community. We will also offer off-site visits\, including trips to local markets and producers. All the delicious vegetarian or vegan food during the week will be shared as we come together to enjoy each other’s company and savour the fruits of our labour. To end the week\, we will have a closing celebration\, where we will invite local friends and neighbours to join us. \nAccommodation during the week will be in shared double rooms and/or a shared sleeping space at Community House. Alternatively\, you are invited to bring a tent to sleep on the land. Places are attributed on a first come\, first served basis. After the limit is reached\, we will operate a waiting list. \nQuinta NOTALOF Policy:\nAs with all Quinta Project events\, there is no charge. You are joining us as members and volunteering to work in exchange for accommodation and board. You may be invited to donate to the Quinta Association. Nobody is turned away for lack of funds.
